What makes DeVore Nutrition and Wellness different from the other nutrition programs?

DeVore Nutrition and Wellness is owned and operated by a Registered Dietitian.  Many other nutrition programs are provided by “nutritionists.”  The term “nutritionist” is not legally regulated and therefore can be used by anyone regardless of expertise or education level. 

DeVore Nutrition and Wellness's Dietitian, Amber DeVore, has over 15 years of experience in the field of dietetics in a wide range of settings.  She has been in private practice for the last 6 years.

Where is DeVore Nutrition and Wellness located?

We are based out of Williamsburg, VA and have an office located at 3200 Ironbound Road, Suite A. 

Although meeting face to face is ideal, services are also provided via webcam or phone.   

What forms of payment do you accept?

DeVore Nutrition and Wellness accepts cash, checks, and payment via PayPal or Stripe.  You do not have to create a PayPal or Stripe account in order to use your credit card with this service.  Payment is expected prior to an appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

DeVore Nutrition and Wellness does not accept insurance as payment.  However, if requested, DeVore Nutrition and Wellness will provide a coded receipt to our clients so that you may submit the information to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.  The coded receipt indicates that any reimbursement should be made to yourself or the insurance holder, not to DeVore Nutrition and Wellness.  If you need reimbursement, please contact your insurance company prior to making an appointment to see if a doctor’s referral is required, and which services are reimbursable.  Coverage varies with each insurance provider. 

Do health savings accounts (example:  flexible spending accounts) cover services from Registered Dietitians?

Health savings accounts often times cover services provided by Registered Dietitians.  Contact your provider to check their policies.

Why should I pay for something that is not covered by my insurance?

The decision to make a change has to be your own.  There is a reason you have decided to look at this website; hopefully, it is because you would like to improve your quality of health.  The money you invest in your health now may help you avoid future medical expenses.  Think of nutrition therapy as an investment in yourself – it will pay dividends!

How can I make an appointment?

Just go to the contact page or call DeVore Nutrition and Wellness at 757-585-5229.  It’s that simple.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

There is no cancellation fee if you notify DeVore Nutrition and Wellness at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time to avoid being billed for the appointment.

What days of the week are you open?
DeVore Nutrition and Wellness is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Hours are by appointment only.  Weekend and evening appointments are not available at this time.
