In all of my experiences as a Dietitian, from clinical nutrition to supporting special operations Marines, the one thing that always reminds me why I love being a Dietitian is getting to work directly with people and sharing in their excitement when they see results. My clients don’t just lose a few pounds or a few inches on their waist, my clients have life changing results: increased energy, feeling healthier, and being happier. I help my clients make changes that last a lifetime. Each person is unique and each client receives specialized individual counseling tailored to fit their personality, motivations, and learning style.
I started my career as a clinical dietitian working with patients in various disease states. I have always applied my knowledge and experience as a clinical dietitian to my practice of community, sports, and food sensitivity nutrition. I specialize in adult weight management, food sensitivities, and sports/performance nutrition. I am a Registered dietitian, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, Certified Lifestyle Eating and Performance Therapist, and hold a certificate from the Commission on Dietetic Registration in Adult Weight Management. After working in a hospital setting for five years I moved to North Carolina to be with my husband who was a Marine artillery officer stationed at Camp Lejeune. In North Carolina I continued to practice as a clinical dietitian when I was offered a position working with the Marines and Sailors stationed at Camp Lejeune. I proudly worked with Marines and Sailors to improve body composition and performance so they would be best prepared for the rigors of pre-deployment training and combat. I also worked with countless family members of our Marines and Sailors to help them with numerous medical conditions as well as weight management. While working with the Marine Corps, I was offered a position working as a performance dietitian with Marine Corps Forces Special Operation Command (MARSOC) in the newly developed Performance and Resiliency Program. I have had a private practice in the Williamsburg area for the last nine years. I continue to do what I love most - helping people live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
